23. Feedback

I have really struggled with 23 Things but I've tried to keep an open mind about it. It was rather time consuming, however I can see that some applications are very useful. For example, I thought Google Docs is an excellent way of collaborating on a project as well as the instant messaging! I hope I can retain some of the knowledge into the future.

22. Web Base Communication Tool

I perused the instant messaging applications and I believe these could be very useful for small groups with similar interests and niche groups. They could keep in contact with each other instantly no matter where they're located. In the library I have seen Skype being used by a few students - it is the way of the future - cheap telecommunication, VU is paying for his phone bills!

21. Podcasts

Went to ABC site and listened to some radio programmes and saw the convenience of listening to broadcasts at a time that suits me. Also went to Factiva site and accessed podcast there, as well as downloading broadcast to desktop.

have put my imaginary pet on wiki and watched youtube video "gorilla librarian"and other viewed links

Library 2.0 etc

Library 2.0, Encore and the new Ebscohost 2.0 interface are the new buzz applications for the library of the future. As time goes on I realise my knowledge will expand and I will explore further their potential.

Have played with google maps and looked at my kid's homes.
Used google docs and found that it could be useful to show students in the future.
